My Why....

A lot of people might wonder why I would start a business at home. They might think it's a scam and that I won't make money. There are people all over making a great living with Direct Selling businesses! It's the perfect solution for people like me, that would like to spend more time at home with my kids.

The reason for me starting my shampoo biz......my why?

My kids, my husband, time freedom, financial freedom, low start up cost and the ability to stay at home with my family are my main reasons for starting this business. I know it will take time to be able to make enough money to do so, but I'm determined and not giving up!

Eventually I would like for my husband to work less so he can be home more....did I just say that😂? I would like to travel and see more of the world and not have to worry about money. I know it's possible, I've seen it. The fact that there is not a physical "store/business" to run makes it simpler. I won't have to leave the house to go to a JOB. I can fit my business into the nooks and crannies of life. Right now I don't spend as much time on it as I'd like, but that's because I have a JOB to go to and my husband works very long hours. As my business grows I will be able to do that though.

Direct Selling companies are making it possible for people like me to earn a full time income while doing the things we want without being tied down to a traditional workplace. How long has Avon or Mary Kay been around? Years and years, with millions of consultants. That is awesome that so many people can earn an income on their terms!

People may be annoyed by my posts on Facebook and other social media buy I can't let that stop me. Those people have the ability to delete me or scroll past my "annoying" posts 😁. My family and friends that support me and my time freedom are more important than that. Sometimes it's hard to keep up the motivation because it's not always easy, but I have to think past that and look at what the future holds!! I'm so excited 😆! Thanks for reading.

Hair Update

I've been using Monat for 5 months now and the Let it Grow System and S3 supplements for 3. I've had a good amount of growth so far (I've had a couple trims also). Monat For Nails?

So, I've always had problems with my nails. Very thin and soft, break easily and peel. If I used nail polish they would only get worse! To the point that they had to be cut so short that they hurt. They peeled so much that they were very thin and sore. They looked terrible!

My cuticles were dry, cracked and on the verge of bleeding. When I would get my nails done the manicurist would say I would always have this problem due to my work. Washing my hands a lot and opening and cutting up cardboard boxes dry them out. Every time my nails started looking better they would start breaking and peeling again. I'm always banging them and then they break.

I tried the hair and nails vitamins, biotin (which made me sick to my stomach), nail strengtheners and protectors, cuticle creams and oils. You name it I've tried it! Nothing worked......until now!

I don't want to jinx it, but I've been using the S3 supplements from Monat for about 3.5 months and my nails have not been peeling or breaking. They're growing and they are hard, if I press on the end they don't bend like they did before. I'm just in awww of these products. Nothing usually works for me, until I found Monat.

Hair Update

It's been 4 months since using Monat....doesn't seem that long ago! For the first 2 months I used the Balance System mainly, which consists of the Renew shampoo, replenishing masque, and leave in conditioner. I would use the Men's 2 in 1 as a clarifying shampoo once a week or so. I used the IRT spray, which promotes regrowth, each time I wash my hair. I just put a few sprays here and there and then massage it in. For the last 2 months I've been using the new IRT shampoo, IRT spray, Replenish Masque, leave in conditioner and oil. I also use the S3 supplements, when I remember to take them.

I wash my hair almost every day. Once in a while I'll go a day without. I wash with a nickel size of the IRT Shampoo twice, letting it sit for a minute or two each time. I still have half a bottle left also!! Then I put a small amount of the masque on the ends and let that sit for how ever long it takes me to do my business. After I towel dry I use a small amount of the leave in conditioner or masque with 2 drops of oil just on the ends of my hair.

Most times I just let my hair air dry but sometimes I will blow dry it then put a drop of oil in my hands and rub together then run it through my hair. When I blow dry it it's so shiny and feels so soft and smooth. My kids are probably tired of me saying "feel how soft my hair is!!" When it air dries it doesn't go frizzy like it used to, it has a bit of wave to it and it feels soft. When I brush it before my shower there are no little pieces of hair in the sink, that had broken off, like I used to get. My hair was dry and brittle.

In the 2 months I've been using the IRT shampoo my hair has grown at least 3 inches, maybe more. The hairs around my face are actually growing...they never did before!! They just looked like broken hairs that stayed broken. I see hairs sticking straight up on top of my head and the hair at the nape of my neck has grown also. It actually looks like my hair has all these fly aways, I guess I'd call them, until they all grow out. I even have a thinning spot at my left temple that is filling in.

I'm not feeling much of a difference yet in the thickness of my hair. I'm looking forward to that! My hair used to be so thick and since having kids it's gotten very thin. My daughters hair, on the other hand, has been feeling a lot thicker. She also has a ton of hair sticking straight up on top, even my mom noticed it.

As for styling products, I really only use the hairspray, which I love! I've never been one to use a lot of products anyway. I would buy the latest and greatest, use it a few times, then they would sit with all the other products I tried, because they never did what they said they would do! Once in a while I'll use the mouse or taffy if I'm curling my hair.

All in all, I'm excited to see the difference in 6 months or a year!

My Personal Story

My name is Tara Martindale. I am married with 4 kids. I live in Ontario, Canada. I work as a Supervisor/Cashier at Shoppers Drug Mart in my area. I stayed at home raising my children until my youngest was in grade 1 and started to go to school full time. I wanted something to do and the extra money came in handy.

Hair Growth With IRT Shampoo

I started using the new IRT shampoo on August 17th. I'm also using the S3 Supplement, the masque, and a small amount of leave in with a couple drops of oil. My hair has grown quite a bit! My hair is very slow to grow usually so seeing this growth is very exciting for me!

Side Effect Of Monat?

So the other night I was getting ready for bed and while brushing my teeth I noticed a pesky grey hair sticking straight up

on top of my head. As always, I plucked it out! But something was different this time. Usually the greys I pluck are just that, grey....and course!

This time the end of the hair was grey but the hair from root to mid way was BROWN! I was shocked....how is this possible? I remember reading about a woman being kind of upset because her Monat products were turning her silver locks back into her natural colour. She wanted her hair silver! So I did a bit of research and turns out there were more people this has happened to. It is just not something that is promoted by Monat because it's not something they tested and researched.

I read that the healthier scalp and bulb will grow healthier hair....after all it is anti-aging hair care. I'm just hoping this trend continues for me. I don't have a lot of grey hair but it will be coming soon. The ones I do have get plucked but I can only do that for so long....I'll end up with bald spots ;)

I feel like I need to talk about this because there are so many misconceptions and myths. MLM, Direct Sales, Network Marketing......whatever you want to call it, is a legit way to own your own business and make damn good money doing it! Some people may think it's a scam or pyramid scheme! But what I would like to know is.....if it's a scam or pyramid then how is Avon, Mary Kay, Scentsy and other DS companies still out there making money and helping millions of people earn a living??

These companies have been around for years and years and they're still going strong. Monat has been in Canada for less than a year.....U.S. for 2 years. So imagine what it will be in 5, 10, 20 years! The possibilities are endless and I get goosebumps just thinking about it!

That is what made me really think twice when I joined just for the products.....and the fact that I realized how good the products were after just a few washes. This company is DEBT FREE!! They already have an established company that's been around for over 15 years, so they know what they're doing! They also own their own FDA approved lab and R&D facilities. 

The best thing about Monat is how they care about their Market Partners. It's like one big happy family and they reward you when you work hard and get the job done! How To Use Monat Products

Yes there is a particular way to wash your hair! First and foremost, you do not need a lot of product to get the job done. A dime to a quarter size amount is all that is needed to have fabulous hair. Some people may use too much and it ends up making their hair feel heavy or greasy.....especially with the masque or leave in conditioner.

First make sure your hair is really really wet. Squeeze a dime to quarter size amount of shampoo into the palm of your hand and rub your hands together to make a nice lather. Apply it to the hair and massage it through onto the scalp. Don't worry if you don't get a lot of lather. Leave the shampoo in for one to three minutes. Rinse and repeat. The second wash should produce a lot more lather.

If you use the masque in the shower, squeeze out the extra water and apply a dime to quarter size into the ends of hair. About half way up the hair shaft should do it since the masque may be too heavy for some people. You can leave the masque in for 3-10 minutes. Just clip it up and go about your business in the shower and by the time you're done you can rinse out your hair.

On towel dried hair you can apply the leave in conditioner. A half to one pump of leave in is all you need. If you want you can add a drop or two of the Rejuveniqe Oil, rub together in your hands and apply on the ends of the hair. Style as usual.

If you use the Moxie Mousse or the Tousled Texturing Mist, you only need a half to a full pump. I only use a half. Rub the hands together and scrunch it into the hair and style as desired. The Taffy is great to use for flyaways or to hold your curls. Very little bit is needed. The hairspray is awesome! Shake it like you mean it to activate those oils. It holds your hair in place yet it leaves it soft, with no stickiness or crunch.

If you would like a deeper conditioning treatment, mix a couple drops of oil with the masque and apply. Put your hair up and leave on for a few hours or over night. Wash out in the morning and you hair will be soft as silk!

You can make a spray detangler, which is great for kids. Add 2-4 pumps of leave-in conditioner and 2-4 drops of oil to a small spray bottle of hot water. Shake it up really good and shake it each time you use it....works like a charm!

New IRT Shampoo

We were introduced to a new product called Intense Repair Shampoo and I received my shipment yesterday! The system consists of the shampoo and the Intense Repair Treatment spray. I really liked it....it lathers really well, even when rubbing it in the hands first! It's kind of minty but not a really strong mint like the Men's Black 2 in 1, which is a peppermint scent. I don't mind the Men's, it's a good clarifying shampoo.

I thought the new IRT Shampoo would leave my hair tangly and feeling rough but surprisingly it was just the opposite....it felt smooth and no tangles! This shampoo will need to be paired with a conditioner if you like using a conditioner. I used the masque then when towel dried I sprayed a bit of my homemade spray conditioner and there were very few tangles!

After I blow dried my hair it was so soft and felt really good! Never ever have I been able to say I love blow drying my hair!! I never would because it would frizz up and have lots of knots! Not the case now!

My homemade conditioner spray is just hot water in a spray bottle I bought from a dollar store. 4 pumps of the leave in conditioner along with 4 drops of the Rejuveniqe oil. Shake it really good with each use. There may be clumps of the leave in conditioner at first but they dissolve! I use it on Maddy and it works great!!

Rejuveniqe Oil

This oil is something else I tell ya! It has so many uses ... hair, skin, nails, skin irritations, sun burn ... just to name a few! I've used it in my hair and on my cuticles. I put a small amount on my eye lashes and have noticed new lashes growing and they are getting longer and thicker.

Very little is needed, a few drops for hair, not even one drop for my cuticles and same for my eyelashes. It can be used as a scalp treatment...drop a few drops in different areas then massage it through. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash as usual or use over night.

My daughter went to a birthday party and sun screen was applied before she went. She was in the pool all day and sun screen was not reapplied (we weren't with her). This stuff is unreal. Usually products I've used never do what they say they are going to do and this oil goes above and beyond. As a bonus....it smells good....kind of lemony but not strong!

When I seen a post on Facebook about Monat I didn't pay much attention....that was about 10 months ago! I inquired about it but wasn't ready to spend money. I was still looking for something to help thicken my hair and make it look better. Everything I researched didn't get great reviews and/or would cost the same or more than Monat.
